Over 25 years of experience writing, recording and performing original music. I play guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. I was a percussive member of the Bands of America 1997 Finalist Lassiter Marching Band. Member of many bands, including local touring act Ribbit (2005-2010). But mainly music has been a form of therapy for me. The act of creation I find to be one of the most healing hobbies available, and it is my goal to aid others in finding their inner artist! I’m a great listener as I pointed out earlier. My musical strength has always been my ear. I’ve learned all major and minor scales with arpeggios through schooling and that’s great knowledge to have. I focus my teaching technique on scales and arpeggios to show that music heavily comprises of these fundamental elements. But I also teach students who want to learn by ear training and I teach students how to tune the instruments which is a major skill to have. Read More

I love people and I love music. My gift is teaching, and I think about it all the time. It gives me great joy to share what I have with you. I teach all aspects of brass playing: air control, embouchure development, articulation, tone, range, and musical interpretation of all styles. I teach a complete understanding of the guitar fretboard. I incorporate music theory and an understanding of chord structure in all lessons, and for all instruments that I play and teach. Read More

I started teaching guitar in High School in 2009, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 8 years. I took private lessons for 7 years from four different guitar instructors, so I know what works and what doesn't. My number one focus as a teacher is keeping my students engaged, and doing my best to ignite their passion for the instrument of guitar. I start with teaching proper technique, form, and posture, as well as the basic chord shapes and strumming patterns, and from there I teach songs that both put these new techniques into practice and adhere to the student's musical interests. I have a love for teaching as well as for learning, and am always sudying something new. I have experience performing in a range of styles, from classical to jazz to rock and pop to bluegrass. After graduating from Reinhardt University, I took contracts on cruise ships, playing electric bass in show bands and orchestras on Carnival and Princess cruise lines; this gave me the chance to see much of the world, as well as the opportunity to perform challenging music nightly. My philosophy of teaching is to help the student play the music that he or she wants to play and give the student a practical understanding of the guitar and music theory. I teach the skills that enable the student to apply themselves to all forms of music. Each student is an individual and is taught in a manner that inspires his or her personality. Read More
