I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in May of 2013 with my Bachelor of Music degree with a Concentration in Music Composition. These exercises are mostly for warm ups, hand coordination, internalizing rhythm, and speed training. For those who are not in band and are just starting, my preferred method for brass and woodwind players is Tradition of Excellence.
