My lessons are designed to transfer info to the advanced student so that he or she can design own studies after finishing studying with me. I do believe in the fundamentals of music and ultimately, no matter what you hear, learning music is not re-inventing the wheel. There is technique, reading music and understanding the basics of how the particular instrument works. I like the Essential Elements for Guitar or bass for guitarists and bassists and Alfred's Piano method books. Ted Reed's Guide to Syncopation is a good drum book. I am a musician and artist based in New York City and surrounding areas. I have been playing and studying music since I was a child and have deep love and knowledge for and of the art form. My teaching experience begins in June of 2018. Prior I had experience teaching at a non profit organization that I was the Executive Assistant Director of. I had taught students business English, museum management, & digital editing during summer exchange programs. In regards to drums, I began regular tutelage in June of 2019, growing my students to 8 total before the pandemic. During my time teaching virtually, I have found that focusing on theoretical points of discussions, balanced by applicable examples of these topical discussions in older & contemporary forms of music, is a wonderful & effective way to teach the instrument.
