I strongly believe in the use of a metronome and the versatility of percussion rudiments so I usually have most beginning students start there. I believe that repetition and the reduction of speed are essential for learning, mastering and remembering technique and the nuances of music. I encourage each student to explore the style or genre of music that is most appealing to them.
