I am a passionate flutist that loves teaching flute privately in addition to performing. In May of 2022, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Hartt School of Music with a BM in Flute Performance. While I was there, I studied with Janet Arms, flutist of New York City Opera. I have also extensively studied with Dr. Barbara Hopkins, Assistant Principal of The Hartford Symphony Orchestra. I normally use the Standard of Excellence method books for most of my students; however, I am open minded to adjusting to each individual student's musical needs, whether it be Jazz, Classical, or whatever style music the student is focusing on. For Drummers, I prefer the Haskell Harr Method, or the Buddy Rich Method Book, as well as the Breeze Easy Method Book. I firmly believe in starting with the basics of singing for younger students, however they should have fun as well as learn. Giving them a choice in at least one song we do every so often, to me, is the way to keep them interested in the art. As a flute teacher, I encourage my students to play with love. Finding the balance between physical technique and musicianship is something that students can struggle with. In order to master the flute, students need to be technically proficient, but to make music, students must be inspired. My students will be given the tools to be a great flutist both in my studio and later on in their careers. By focusing on fundamentals, technique, tone, and musicality, my students will be able to interpret and create music both in a practice room alone and on stage. Read More

I have been teaching students since my sophomore year of high school, 3 years ago. I taught both beginner piano lessons and flute lessons of all levels. I encourage my students to keep a practice journal with their practice schedule, daily practice logs, long term and short term goals, lessons from notes, and anything else that can be useful for improvement.
