With an intense focus on character study, I've performed lecture recitals and partial roles of Baby Doe (The Ballad of Baby Doe), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Blondchen (Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail) and Musetta (La Boheme). As a young student, I was an aural learner, if I heard it done, I could copy it. It was not until very recently that I have been able to grasp and oral way of learning. As young teacher, I find that I can be successful with students in both ways of teaching. It is much easier to inspire the student once I can grasp their way of learning. For beginning students, I typically like to work out of the Rubanks Elementary Flute Method Books. I also like to find repertoire which will interest each student, with solo repertoire and duets. As students progress, I like to work out of the Trevor Wye books as well as Taffanel et Gaubert Daily Exercises.
