Students will also likely have a theory workbook or worksheets that match the level of their current repertoire. I am not a teacher who uses specific method books. I use books based on the student's musical preferences or sometimes none at all. A good technique is always emphasized. My area of expertise is Sight Reading. This is an essential aspect of learning to play any instrument. A good sight reader is always able to learn their pieces faster and be better performers. My teaching methods varies from different styles . I teach music theory, jazz improvisation, musical concepts for all instruments, as well as saxophone and flute lessons . I prefer to teach lessons for one hour, this gives the students a full spectrum of their weekly assignments. I first began teaching the student basic fundamental which includes breathing, fingering, basic rhythms and notes .Once the student has developed these things, I develop a repertoire for the student, The first half of the lesson deals with technical exercises in the second half deals with creative aspects of music such as theory and improvisation.
