I teach out of instructional books, notably books by Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, and Alfred. Sometimes, I use sheet music print outs, and draft up my own exercises. I go back in forth in a non-conventional manner, adapting accordingly to the student's needs. I like to incorporate exercises and warm ups to improve and enchance technique. I also teach songs that the student would like to learn. I'm very patient and rarely rigid in my approach, although I do stick to a general routine that allows a focused approach to learning. I also started teaching some short courses about musical theory and harmony, destined for all kinds of instrumentalists. Read More

I have taught different ages (6 to 60!) and students with opposite tastes and styles of music and that made me aware of the many possibilities and directions one can take. My experience as a teacher taught me to adapt to the students goals while being able to communicate the formal methods or strategies that define the understanding of music as a whole. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, continued throughout my college experience, and is my current part time job at numerous music schools. I use a combination of determining where the student is currently at, areas the student wants to to improve, and my own profession assessment of where a great place for the student to begin would be in our lessons. Every student learns differently, so that's why he adapts to all situations and ensures his students are given the tools and knowledge they need in order to reach their full musical potential. I treat each student as an individual and spend time getting to understand their goals, musical tastes, learning style, and ability level. As we get to know each other I guide the student through exercises, repertoire, techniques, and concepts that are specifically catered to build a foundation to achieve their unique goals. As we proceed down this road, I provide feedback and suggest new exercises or material based on a mutual understanding of strengths, weaknesses, and what has worked well so far. Read More
