I have been playing music for the vast majority of my life, it is my passion and purpose in life. I play a multitude of genres and instruments because I love to be able to speak every dialect of Great Communicator, the universal language that is Music. I have played in Arabic, Jazz, Folk, Country, Metal, Funk, large Orchestras, small chamber classical music throughout my varied carreer as a performer and I thouroughly enjoy catering my education approach to my student's individual tastes. I generally use Alfred for piano, both the children's and adult's versions. I use Hal Leonard for guitar. For both violin and double bass, I generally use either Belwin or Essential Elements. I have been teaching music, mainly guitar and piano, off and on for almost 15 years. My style varies on the age of the student, what they hope to achieve and where their strengths lie. For me, the trick is inspiring the student to pick up their instrument everyday and want to play it. Read More

I gained my teaching experience over the last 3 years in a variety of settings. For the 2011-2012 school year I was a Music Project Coordinator at a high school in Montreal, where I gave private lessons (drums, guitar, piano), coached bands, assisted students and ran rehearsals in ensemble classes, and co-organized the school's winter and fall concerts. Since moving to Detroit in 2012 I have been teaching private lessons to students of all ages in studios and in students' homes, and as a substitute teacher have led ensemble rehearsals at all grade levels. For each instrument, I have the same basic approach: discover what they like, assess what they can do, and begin with the fundamentals. If a student is more advanced, I still like to spend time on fundamentals at the beginning anyway to see if we can fill in any foundational weakness that the student may have. For each instrument, I also have a wide array of repitoire that I give students that zero-in on technical challenges a student will be presented with. Read More

Music is my calling in life. My career in teaching started 30 + years ago and it has truly been a pleasure to see my students light up when they learn the songs they love. I started by offering private lessons in 1992 and soon had many requests from other students. I offer lessons for both electric and acoustic guitar as well as piano. Along with instrumental lessons, I teach music theory workshops for song-writers and music engineering workshops for musicians. Read More
