For beginners, I start with Suzuki school violin and guitar books. Once the student has a grasp of the fundamentals I introduce pieces or may have the student pick out a pice they'd like to work on. For more intermediate players I generally try to help them with music they may already be working on and give them studies to practice relevant techniques. I actually have 4 degrees. I went to San Jose State University and got a bachelors of science in computer electronics and high tech management. Unsatisfied with working in this field I went on to get two more degrees at UCSB, bachelor of arts and music performance and composition.
