For beginners, I start with Suzuki school violin and guitar books. Once the student has a grasp of the fundamentals I introduce pieces or may have the student pick out a pice they'd like to work on. For more intermediate players I generally try to help them with music they may already be working on and give them studies to practice relevant techniques. For students who are just beginning, I typically start with Alfreds Drum Method Book 1. Mostly for learning basic music notaion and theory. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I begin to introduce drum set music notation and theory from the Tommy Igoes Groove Essentials 1.0 book. For adult students we tend to work on whatever the the students interested in,and guide my lessons accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun ,no matter their skill level. Read More
