I typically start students who don’t know how to read music with Kevin Olsen‘s book called “The Perfect Start.” I then supplement that with my own approaches to teaching to note reading, musicianship, theory, sight singing, and composition. After a few months, the student will be transferred over to such books as Fabre and Fabre.” I truly try and streamline a students experience and lessons towards pieces and music they are interested in playing. I have for several years worked with Middle and High School Students throughout the Corpus Christi area. I have worked with beginner and intermediate bassoon students, beginner, intermediate and advanced flute students. I have a great deal of experience working with theatres and teaching vocals to musical theatre actors. For the past 10 years I have worked extensively with choirs.
