I began studying piano when I was 6 years old and developed a passion for music from a young age. I'm a graduate of the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley CA (B.M., 16) where my teachers included Benny Green, Peter Horvath and Art Lande. In 2018, I graduated from University of Antioqua with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Flute Performance. During a lesson I tend to organize the lesson so that there are three or four parts. Usually I begin with long tones then we move to articulation. Then I usually incorporate a few small musical studies that cater to style and performance type. During this time it is important for the student to pay attention to the timbre of their performance. When I teach, I treat you like a colleague and I require your full attention during the 30-60 min class. Singing takes a lot of discipline, sweat and abdominal work (for the high notes). If you are aiming for the stars, you need to be trained like one. I can make you understand how voice projection works, so you know how to best use your voice and protect it. From my own experience both as a student and as a teacher, teaching anything in life is most effectively done with consistency and practice. Learning violin is no exception to that fundamental truth. As a teacher, I emphasize consistent practicing. I don't, however, believe in being too hard on students.
