Comprehensive method individually structured for each student.  Books depending on level and age start with Standard of Excellence and are individually chosen to support the student. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. My influences range from Ella Fitzgerald, to Dean Martin, to Tony Bennett, and Barbra Streisand, to name several. I take what I like from those artists, and add my own sound to it. I had the opportunity to perform with JT and California Dreamin in Southern California for a PBS fundraiser. That band leader is John Tu, the founded of the Sim Card. I like to teach lessons that are fun and engaging. It is important to me that my students feel relaxed and comfortable with expressing themselves musically. I beginning with yoga, stretching and deep breathing. Breathing is the most important, so I like to teach my students how to breathe organically and free from stress in their body.
