My love for music and performing is rivaled only by my drive to want to help people grow and feel good about themselves and their skills. I feel that it is very important for seasoned musicians to share what they've gained with those who want to learn and participate in that same world. Every person and every student is completely different from one another, yet we all have learned and can learn from others with different skill sets and experiences. Read More

Setting up goals to students at the beginning is a way to keep them motivated during lessons, by breaking down their goals into smaller pieces, It becomes more achievable for the students, I follow up a lesson plan depending on the students knowledge and level, everybody is different and for that I always incorporate lessons that goes with the kind of music they inspire yo play, I will bring composition activities, ear training activities and music theory activities too, there's so much to cover but these lessons are important because they will bring confidence and ability to make their interpretations when students want to learn a song, Read More

My methods are based on what I have personally tried and proven to be beneficial. The three main methods I find to be extremely important are the Arban book, and the Clarke technical and characteristic studies. In addition, I've found equally important the Earl Irons long tone and flexibility exercises. I like to find out what the student is most interested in a tailor the practice regiment accordingly. Once we start to master the basics, we can move on to specific musical styles that the student wishes to pursue. Read More

Since I am also a composer and arranger, I tend to be partial towards the use of my own "homemade" methods.... taking on the idea of composers like Mozart, Beethoven and Schumann (example would be Album of the Young) and writing simple pieces that reinforce specific technical challenges like double thirds, left hand arpeggios, consecutive octaves, pedalling and so on. Sometimes if I have a student that likes Pink Floyd or Eric Clapton, for instance, I will do my best to come up with a simplified version of a particular song using good ole staff paper. Read More

My goal is that when I'm teaching; the student feel happy. I believe that when the student in happy he/she is having fun. There is no problem to have fun when you are learning something new, the person enjoy more and they get interest of taking new challenges. Once a year I like to have little concerts, it is a good way to have little concerts so the students get confident to play the instrument in front other people and also the parents or family can see there progress. Classical and jazz music and multiple styles. Beginners are always fun to teach Kids are like sponges they just absorb everything you can think of and they will always give me a sense that Im doing something they can enjoy for their whole life. Adults can be somewhat of a challenge especially if they never played an instrument while growing up but if theyre willing to put the time and effort in it can become a very fulfilling and nice hobby. I believe each student is different. Therefor, lessons should differ depending on each students particular needs, taste in music, and age. I would never treat an adult student like I would a young student and vice versa. I always try to set weekly goals with each of my students in order for them to have something to work towards on a consistent basis. If my students don't reach their weekly goal I simply have a little bit of a review with them in the beginning of the lesson and then proceed with that weeks work. Read More
