For example if I have a guitar student that really wants to be a lead guitarist I will play the solo of one of there favorite songs and teach them a small part of it or all of it if they are at an advanced level. It is very important for students to grasp the fundamentals. For intermediate students, we would progress on a track and focus on what they had for goals.
