Once the student has grasped the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for a first recital program. For intermediate to advanced students, I try to find out what the student is interested in, what they have previously worked on, and what their goals are musically. I like to focus on fundamentals such as extended scales in various patterns, etudes geared towards development of a specific technical aspect, and solo repertoire containing these fundamentals.
