I have been teaching since getting my masters in 1999 - from Brooklyn and NYC to New Haven, CT, where I now teach vocal technique to all ages at the Educational Center for The Arts (Performing Arts High School) and at the Neighborhood Music School. I love to teach healthy singing to all ages, styles and levels, and lessons are alot of fun and immensely productive. I took over his position and have had a blast since. For students I will show other people around their age playing the drums and after that I will show them the fundamentals of making a beat and staying on beat. Once students have the fundamentals together then we would play songs that they like and find interesting in and we would play those songs by ear. No matter what level they are in. I graduated from the Conservatory of Music of Ukraine, studying double bass and electric bass. I received my PHD Degree in Music and Arts. I was a full time performer at the symphony orchestra and Opera house, as well as a member of Folk band on double bass, regularly playing electric bass at the night restaurants and all kinds of festivals. 23 years ago, I moved to US and continued my musical education at New York University. For beginning students I start with an Alfred's beginning drum method to help with reading. We also start on the basic understanding of musical concepts such as tempo, dynamics and so on.  While reading is important I do also include learning by wrote or by ear.  A good ear is just as important as good reading skills for the complete musician.  I always include music that the student is interested in to keep the lessons fun and engaging!
