Once the student has grasped the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for a first recital program. For intermediate to advanced students, I try to find out what the student is interested in, what they have previously worked on, and what their goals are musically. I like to focus on fundamentals such as extended scales in various patterns, etudes geared towards development of a specific technical aspect, and solo repertoire containing these fundamentals. It has helpful tools such as changing pitch and tempo (independently of one another), selecting, cutting, looping, changing volume, adding effects, and may other functions. I have been teaching musicians of all ages and levels ever since my first year of undergraduate in 2016. I have been contracted every summer since then by Summer Sonatina, a piano camp in Bennington, VT, to teach five to six 45 minute lessons a day.
