I've been teaching private lessons since 2010, as well as teaching in studios and doing workshops for children. I encourage my students to work toward their goals and always practice! As a practicing musician you are in control of your own destiny! A major reason I became a musician was to be able to create and in order to create you must have the tools to do so. Taking private lesson will help you gain those tools and give you more motivation to keep going! Read More

Music has always been my number 1 passion, and I have taught private music lessons since I was in high school. Since graduating with my Master's degree in 2011, I have become a certified music teacher for grades K-12. I modify all lessons depending on the student to best suite the students needs and prepare them for the maximum learning experience. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I like to work with students individually for their own goals and skill level. For younger students, we work on msuciality and basics of singing through devleopmentally appropriate (and fun!) songs. Regardless of the student's level, each lesson contains singing repertoire, vocal exercises to work on technique, and musicianship skills. The combination of these elements will depend entirely on the student's needs and desires! At the consultation lesson, I will provide a written assessment of where I see the student progressing and propose a plan to reach the students stated goals, focusing always on the process of individual development. My approach to teaching music involves three parts: 1. Learning proficiency on an instrument; 2. Maintaining interest in playing and 3. Creativity. I find it is very easy for people to get into a rut and/or get bored with music and I have some very specific approaches designed to mitigate this. I have a variety of gear at home including piano, basses, guitars amps etc so no need to bring anything if you come to my house to learn. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium Tuba
For beginning students, I start out with theStandard of Excellence Band Method book to learn intrumental basics along with basic music theory. Once the student is comfortable enough on the basics, he or she will be introduced to solo repertoire. For more developed students, work will be taken directly fromArban's Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet. Read More

I consider myself a Suzuki Teacher, but I supplement the method with other books, pieces and methods depending on the age, level, needs and interests of each student. For most of my students, I use Artistry in Strings, I Can Read Music, Introducing the Positions, Wolfhart, and more in addition to Suzuki. As a teenager I formed a strong interest in alternative styles besides classical and learned pieces from many genres including pop, rock, electronic, and show tunes. Read More
