Instruments: Piano Flute
For beginning students who are children, I often use the Andrew Scott Method for flute. When the student is considerably advance I will use the Rubank Book for flute begginers. Once the student is at a comfortable level, I will proceed to introduce him to Body Mapping. For adults, I will prefer to first of all know more about their learning abilities, other experiences with music/sports. Than, I will find out more what they are looking to learn and work from there. As an EDUCATOR, I have had the opportunity to teach talented and diverse students from ages 4 to 89 and my aim has always been to support my students in finding their voices across different genres of music and helping them become more confident, creative, unique, and comfortable with any style of music they love to play. In my studio, I focus on creating study materials with repertoires across genres, with focus on cultural identity (that is unique) to each students background and culture. Read More

I'm a dedicated performer and teacher who looks forward to each student's unique strengths and interests in music. In 2010, I began my undergraduate education in Flute Performance at the renowned University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. I've enjoyed learning new performing styles by participating in competition and groups from across the United States. My musical background is diverse. I performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, marched in the Rose Bowl Parade in Santa Monica, as well as played principal flute in university and community orchestras. Read More

I like to keep a relaxed environment when teaching. Nothing is more disappointing to me than when I hear that somebody has decided to give up music because they had a bad experience with a teacher. As a teacher I am here to support, encourage, and have fun! The last thing I want to do I be an intimidating teacher, and have my student dread lessons. Music is all about having fun, and expressing oneself. Read More

It is very important that lessons be fun as well as informative, and as soon as I am able, I like to develop musical, and technical skills within the context of real music, that the student enjoys. Of course for absolute beginners, we have to develop certain skills before we are able to do this but it is important to me, that any student always has material that they enjoy practicing, and that the learning process is never too abstract or needlessly sterile. Are you interested in learning to play the guitar and want an enjoyable experience that will get you playing songs quickly and with a lot of joy? As a self taught player I have struggled with the how/when/what to practice and finally decided why I was learning to play the guitar. My personal goal is to always improve, but the main reason I play the guitar is for the sheer enjoyment of it as well as producing sounds/songs that I find enjoyable (and if listeners enjoy it that is just a bonus). My teaching style depends on the student. The way I teach young children can be quite different than the way I teach adults. In general, I'm quite laid back. During the first lesson I usually assess a student's skill level and also ask about a student's music goals. Then I'll design a lesson plan with the student's goals in mind. Everyone is different and everyone learns at a different speed. Read More
