For younger students (under eight years old) I usually use the Alfred all in one book.. for older children, I use the Bastian set of four books: piano performance, technic and theory. I strongly believe in utilizing differentiation in teaching music which is why I gravitate towards private instruction. I understand that every student has different learning capabilities which is why I cater each lesson to each student's unique abilities. I work with each student at their own pace to learn and improve upon their skills as a musician. I adapt my teaching style depending on the student. I'm a firm believer one can't just follow the same recipe with every student. Every person is different. My main focus with beginning students is maintaining the fun about learning as to maintain their passion for the instrument and thus really putting the effort in.
