For younger students, I typically start teaching from Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, as it provides a comprehensive method for learning the basics on the saxophne. Once my students have mastered this material, I begin to introduce solo repertoire. For older students, I teach from etude books such as Selected Studies for Saxophone by H. I have been teaching trumpet and conducting on and off since graduating from high school. I have also taught marching technique and drum major conducting in my summers between school. My teaching style reflects methods that did and did not work on me as I grew up learning the trumpet. As I went off to Ohio State for college I considered pursuing a Bachelors degree in Piano Performance, but after being accepted into the program and spending my freshman year in the school of music, I decided that I wanted other things from college and that my musical career would not require such a degree. I love the piano teachers I had who taught and inspired my love of music, so I want to share that with my studenrs as well. I believe that music not only is helpful or the brain, but for emotional regulation as well. It can be a comfort for the individual and help boost self-esteem by mastering different pieces. During my graduate work I taught voice lessons both through the department of music and through the community music program ACMS. My voice students ranged from young beginning singers just learning the basics of singing to seniors in undergrad preparing large roles. This August 2008 the class was made possible through a Marc Rich Scholarship from Switzerland. Sir James commented in January 2007: “The class in Interlaken was the best I have ever heard as a teacher or performer and your wonderful playing is still a very vivid memory.”  Rodolfo has also performed as a first flute with the Galway Flute Festival Flute Choir at the Sir James Galway Flute Festival in the University UGA in Athens, GA in June 2014.
