Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, I've been living in Manhattan for the last five years, where I studied at The Juilliard School with Itzhak Perlman, Li Lin, and Catherine Cho for my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. For the last two years I've been serving as Teaching Assistant to Itzhak Perlman and Li Lin at Juilliard. I started learning guitar about 9 years ago in Malaysia. During that time, I also picked up running as my favorite sport. I came over to US in 2012 and graduated from Queens College with a BS in Exercise Science in 2017. During these 5 years I have been serving in church as a guitarist and teach whoever approaches me. Through these classes I learned both about the pedagogy of healthy singing and of productive teaching. I truly believe that having a good classical foundation will take a student far. I will never complain if a student is not reaching my expectations because I believe complaining only discourages the student. My main goal is to make students realize that learning music is fun and a great experience to have in life. Teaching is the organizing or guiding of a process in which students learn. Teaching is there so students can learn.
