I first started teaching when my piano teacher assigned me to be her assistant back in 2009, I provided her 7-28 year old students with singing lessons. As I proven myself to be an accomplished instructor I received a job as Choir Instructor at School of Music 'Vladimir Djordjevic', where I worked for 1 year before heading to Boston to start my studies at Berklee. In 2010 I started teaching private lessons part time in my home studio, where I conducted voice, piano, music theory, and solfeggio lessons to a total of 16 students, who showed incredible improvements over all 4 years that they stayed under my instruction. I like stuff like Bach Cello Suite #1 or a Jaco Pastorius solo, but you can pick whatever you want, as long as it challenges you to new heights! While I will still aim to deliver essentially the same content, my approach with each child varies based on their attention span and focus. The one book I use for my students is Ted Reed's "Progressive Steps to Syncopation For The Modern Drummer". I use this book for my own benefit on a daily basis. Its interpretation and application is limited only by the student's or instructor's imagination. This book is such a great resource for assisting the student in learning basic reading skills. Once the student becomes familiar with recognizing certain rhythmic sequences, It enables them to study and learn from other publications with an increased level of facility. Read More
