Instruments: Piano Guitar Ukulele
More than a decade ago I began giving music lessons in both private and group formats. It was an unexpected "diversion," but a very natural fit! It brings me great joy to see a student enjoying the guitar, advancing on the instrument, and entering into that "fellowship of guitarists," which means everything from jamming with their friends, to being able to learn any song they want, to understanding a meme about the G string always going out of tune. I have taught elementary, middle, and high school music and have enjoyed each experience. I was teaching chorus, class keyboard, music theory, music appreciation, and modern band ensemble. I always want for my students to feel successful which is why I not only encourage their practicing but provide specific details on what they need to practice so they feel the most successful and know exactly what they need to practice. I've learned through experience that being too strict can contribute to a student loosing interest in practicing, so my teaching style is in the sweet spot. I push my students to always improve but I still remain patient and adaptable to different student situations. I'm always supportive and excited for my students as they grow and find their own performances and build a strong repertoire. A students happiness and success is most important to me so I'll always be a friend and make sure they're doing alright so that they can overcome obstacles and so that we can work around problems together! Instruments: Drums
Hi! I'm a drummer and composer from the south of France, I've been teaching drums from more than 10 years and I love it! I graduated from two different schools, one in France focusing on what we call "amplified music" which are all the modern style of music: Rock, Pop, Soul, Funk, Metal, Reggae etc... and the other school in Spain focusing on Jazz drumming performance. Up until I moved to New York I was a touring drummer as a sideman and as a leader all over Europe (France, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands for most part). Read More
Instruments: Piano
I believe strongly in approaching each student with a blank slate. This means that, before even considering a workbook or a songbook, I take the time to learn from my student about what makes him or her most excited about music. If I find out that my student loves the theme song from La La Land, we're going to learn that! If he or she wants to understand how it's possible for a major scale and a natural minor scale to share the exact same notes, then we'll explore it, not only theoretically, but practically. Read More

Hello, my name is Jihye and I am currently looking for new students that are interested in studying voice and/or piano, starting from January 2015. I teach anyone that has the desire to learn and the willingness to practice. I use an INDIVIDUALIZED APPROACH with all students and depending on students’ age and need, I write different lesson plans for each one of them. I am not just here to advertise myself. Read More
