I recently graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Flute Performance from the University of Florida in Spring 2018. GO GATORS!!! I also have a minor in Disabilities in Society and took pre-nursing courses. I have decided to pursue a Music Therapy certification and Masters Degree in Music Therapy at Florida State University starting in Fall 2018. For younger beginners, I typically start with Hal Leonard’s essential elements, every once in a while, I encourage them to find their favorite song (it can be any type of music) to study and play in the lesson. It can be the entertainment during lessons. The purpose it to make lessons more fun and keep them motivated. For adults, I always try to find out what is the best, what the student is interested in, what is the goal, guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons fun and productive. Read More
