Instruments: Piano French Horn Music Keyboard
I strive to understand their music goals and preferences, which allows me to customize my teaching plans to meet each student's needs. After all, music learning should be a personalized process, and I believe that every student possesses unique talent and creativity! In my classes, you will never feel bored or uninspired. I use vibrant performance demonstrations, engaging music games, and even carry-around props to make learning more enjoyable. I believe that students can absorb knowledge and skills better in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Mallet Percussion
For younger students, I believe in the importance of solidifying technique and understanding of the piano along with developing an excitement for music. With older students, I guide the lessons based on their interests. I believe strongly in the importance of ear training for students of all ages to provide a deeper understanding of the music. Instruments: Cello
Having grown up in a musical family (with the only exception being my dad), I have learned first hand what it takes to be a successful teacher. Simple. It’s all about the student. Every student is different. So having one teaching style may not work for everyone. I’m fortunate enough over16 years to understand every student is different. No one style fits all. I get students playing as quickly as possible. We live in an instant gratification period. Every month my students have a recital. From day one we establish reachable goals. Goals are essential. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Bass Guitar Euphonium Tuba
As a guitar teacher, I like to start with getting the student accustomed with each string, including how to tune a guitar and how to play different notes on each string. Next, I start teaching chords by starting with E minor and then moving as little as possible with the fingers so the student can understand the relation between certain chords. For voice, I start with posture and breath support and work on vocal techniques before we even start with singing songs. Read More
