I also have a combined 14 years of orchestral performance experience, beginning with the Dearborn Youth Symphony which lasted ten years. I have been consistently teaching students since either in my home studio, or at different private and public institutions. I have held different faculty positions in colleges in the past 6 years. For young children (3-9) I exclusively use the Suzuki method and require a lot of parental involvement. I am happy to start children ages 10+ as well as teenagers. Having been a product of a school orchestra myself, I will use a more traditional teaching approach. The adult beginner or adult returner presents unique challenges but I wholeheartedly believe its never too late to start playing an instrument. I have been teaching since February of 2019. Beginner high school players, more specifically. Working with absolute beginners has given me the tools to be patient with someones success. Everyone learns at a different pace. I am strict in my methods, but casual in my demeanor. No intimidation, no rushing, only my care for your progress.
