Instruments: Flute
My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons and running sectionals at the conservatory in my hometown. I have been consistently teaching students since either in my home studio, or at different private and public institutions. I have held different faculty positions in colleges in the past 6 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. Instruments: Trombone Euphonium Tuba
Depending on the skill level of the student, there are a number of different method books, solo literature, orchestral and band excerpts, and tools that I employ. Each student will need to purchase a metronome and tuner (the Korg brand tuner-metronome works great!), and come to each lesson prepared, and with a pencil! Read More
Instruments: Voice
I began teaching youth choirs right after graduating High School. With excellent instruction, I began a more studied teaching approach through my pedigogy class at Central Michigan University. Also, I helped my fellow classmates prepare for their performances. I am beginning to teach privately after continuing my vocal study with a Vocal Coach in the Detroit area. Practice doesn't make perfect, but it does make progress! I ensure that my students continue to sing in the most healthy and easy way for them. Read More

I believe the longevity I've been able to achieve with my students has come from the aforementioned solid foundation mixed with the students genuine interests and ability to see their own progress. I love teaching rock and pop (the stuff so many youngins want to learn) but always find creative ways to sneak in theory and academics. I also like to occasionally provide progress reports or "lesson sheets" to parents or students to make sure everyone is on the same page and still having fun! Read More

I love seeing my students gain passion and find success when they learn a riff or a chord, because I know how I felt when I did it. It inspires you to learn more. I like to use the method of telling them something they did fantastic, something they could work on and end on something they really did awesome on. I want to know what inspires the student and what they want to play. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Violin Viola Ukulele Electric Violin Fiddle
I model my teaching from Ms Dorthy DeLay. The key to teaching is firm foundation but also a personable attitude and strong patience. If a student is having a hard time learning then I take the proper steps to make it clear and easy for them without the stress and anger of failure. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
For beginner students I start with the basic for both piano and voice. For voice we start with breathing, pitch, and starting a healthy techinque and proper places to sing from. For piano I follow the Alfred's serious and begin with music theory as well. Once my students advance we begin with new solo repertoire and more advance theory and sight reading. The more advance the student become the more intense and difficult the material will become. Read More
