Instruments: Voice
I have been told that I am a very energetic and encouraging teacher - I want my students to succeed and to be happy in their singing! I defintely will not stay seated behind the piano for the entire lesson. I like to get up and get involved! I won't ask students to try anything that I won't demonstrate myself first, which I have found usually puts them at ease (this is especially true with children and teens.) I have been a voice student myself for many years, so I know how it feels to be in their shoes, and I try to be as constructive and encouraging as possible while helping them discover their voice. I started teaching guitar and bass in 2001. I started teaching ukulele in 2013. Over the years, I have taught professionally at schools, park districts and music stores- in most cases becoming the top teacher (meaning, I was the most requested and had the best enrollment longevity). When I realized my ability to teach and how perfect it felt for me, I never looked back. In 2006, I opened a music venue/recording studio that was open to all ages- closing 9 years later in 2015. After I graduated from Roosevelt University I had more time outside of academics to start a teaching practice. In 2011, I worked at Lynn Marcel School of Fine Arts in Hillside, IL. As a drum instructor I helped design a corruculum plan and taught younger students ages 8-14. In 2013 and 2014, I worked at School of Rock in Oark Park, IL teaching drum set, voice, and piano for students of all age groups. Read More

I started teaching in new Orleans 2 years ago. My first experience was in Guitar Center Studio for one year and then in LaFargue Pianos music shop for another year. I have had students of differet ages and musical preferances and backgounds. Each person has an individual process with music and its my job to help them in that process. I like to set clear goals and expectations, where the student has a clear idea what to do in order to improve or conquer a specific challenge. Read More
Instruments: Cello
My teaching experience dates back to my university days, as I helped my friends and colleges to pass through disappointments and difficulties encountered frequently in practicing, with cello at their hand. To find joy in playing the cello, take it easy and be relaxed is a foundations of string performance. The lessons of cello art is place for joy and relaxation. I am insisting not fully on regular practice, which is important on all stages of playing, but on thorough and mindful practice each time when ones take the cello. With awareness to the smallest signals of the body.
