I try my best to make sure that in the process of learn about the instrument, we also have fun as well. Working on rudiments, placement, keeping time, different grooves, active listening, dynamics are all important things that I love to start off with! When people think Learning the Basics, they think of the most boring and not fun things. Learning the basics is an excellent way of growing into a great musician! Read More

I Use a geometric learning model that takes the student first to learning the concept physically on the guitar. Then, as soon as they have a handle on the concept, I move Immediately to taking the raw concept into interesting examples that are in the styles that they like so they can experience it in a setting that they enjoy. Following that phase, I move to applying the concept into the common playing playing situations that would arise in any particular scenario in their chosen music. Read More

Ive started teaching when I was in high school. Most of my students were colleagues who wanted to learn the drums and percussion. One of my key points of teaching is technique. technique will make or break you. It affects your longevity and the rest of your body as well. I Think this will be Great for students because growing up I had to learn every thing by myself. I never knew a teacher who had experience or even took music seriously when I was younger. Read More

I typically use the Suzuki method violin books, but I can also work with Strictly Strings and Essential Elements. Depending on the natural strengths of the student, we may start with music fundamentals or jump right into violin setup and technique. I typically pair the books with exercises of my own invention meant to isolate the technique at hand for that lesson. We will integrate reading the music with the physical connection on the instrument. Read More

For students of any level, I tend to always focus on mastering breathing and classical technique. I believe that it is imperative that students develop this way as it is fundamental to any true vocalist. My methods are quite particular to the individual and their natural strengths and weaknesses, but I approach every student with a tried and true structure that leads to fast and noticeable results. I also tend to use written material lending to the classical technique as a way to standardize practice times to structure individual progress outside of lesson time. Read More
