Every lesson begins with play! Learning is easiest when fun. My lesson plans typically follow helping the student develop a practice routine. This is customized to their needs. Then I help evaluate their progress -- perhaps they are learning a new song. Listening to what the student plays is important! We play together as if their are melodies. I was a former organist in Boston College, a pianist in Simmons College. I perform more than 20 recitals in year around Ct. I accompany to instrumentalists, vocalists, solo and I get commissioned to play premier pieces by composers. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with musicians of all backgrounds and levels. In 2019 I graduated from UMass Amherst with a BM in Jazz studies and a BS in environmental science. Studying with Eric Berlin (principal trumpet of the Albany Symphony Orchestra) and Jeff Holmes (grammy winning piano and trumpet player) informed my knowledge of trumpet technique and music theory.
