I began assisting teachers during high school for extra credit. It later became my job during Full Sail. I worked extensively with grades K-5 on reading, writing and math skills enrichment. I have been teaching young trumpeters since I began my undergraduate career four years ago. I have helped middle school and high school students advance in their own playing career. I love learning about how each student learns, and I've always challenged myself to plan accordingly. My students have been honored not only in their own band programs, but also in Georgia All State Band and DCI. I've had the pleasure of working with students who are all in very different places in their musical development, and I strive to meet them where they're at, and challenge them to be the best musician they can be. I have been teaching music for 8 years, starting while in college. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching students from ages 4 to 20 to sing and play instruments because if you're not having fun when you're doing music, you're not doing it right. I love getting to see my students have breakthroughs as they develop their own musical personalities. Getting my students to understand that this journey is a marathon and not a race is important so that they can understand how they should pace themselves as they progress.
