I have been teaching music for over 18 years, primarily guitar. I have taught music for retail, private learning and performing arts centers. I have taught electric and acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, music theory, sight reading, scales and modes, and improvisation. For adults, I would still use Essential Elements because it does help with reading music, basic violin technique, bow hold, etc. Suzuki is a must because Suzuki is the best! I learned all of the books, and Suzuki's learning methods helps so much! As time progresses, solo repertoire will be introduced and the student will begin learning from Wohlfahrt etude book.
