I am an dedicated guitarist, composer, producer and bandleader from Monson, MA. Graduating with high honors from Berklee School of Music with a degree in both Performance and Music Production and Engineering, I have developed a passion for teaching and sharing the musical knowledge that I have been so fortunate to have acquired. Along with teaching, I spread my focus to include both the creative side of performance and the coordination and execution of many musical projects. Read More

Hello, future student! I am an electric/upright bassist from northern Maine with a degree in Music Performance from the University of Maine in Orono. I've been a part of local music scenes since the age of 17 and began pursuing a professional music career during my time in college, where I was sought after as the bassist for many ensembles both as a student, and as a professional. I continue to be very passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise with new students, as I have been ever since slowly learning music myself as a child. Read More

I am a very active musician that has an innate love of teaching. I started playing the clarinet at age 10 and quickly gained interest in playing more than just one instrument. Fast forward to high school, where I am playing Tuba in the marching band, clarinet in the concert band, and saxophone in the jazz band; this is where I know I wanted to share my passion for others. I hold a BA in Music from the University of Connecticut where I studied clarinet, as well as played brass in the marching band, and saxophone in the jazz ensemble. Read More

I like the Hal Leonard Guitar Method series, for guitar. I also use scales, picks, fingerstyle methods, and backing tracks to help get the students up to speed on a song or a riff they'd like to learn. It's important to understand the background of music, so I tend to also teach students the structure of a 12-bar blues progression and relate it to songs of yesterday and today. This enables students to get a well-rounded introduction to understanding timing, tempo, basic theory/progressions, improvisational ideas, and more! Read More

I believe in the power of the Socratic Method in which a student’s question is not greeted with a black and white answer, but rather with a line of questioning that will allow the student to arrive at the answer on their own. I have also found improvisation to be the most effective way of allowing students to express themselves and feel excited about playing. Reading music and ear training are pillars of my approach, but improvisation is where students can really find their voice. Read More

4 to 6 year olds - I ask that they know their alphabet, and I will take care of the rest. I feel it should be just a fun experience and practicing should not be forced, but encouraged. I implore prizes and techniques that make learning fun and a great first experience. 7 years and up - Music requires practice and I will teach the student how to practice, what to practice, and require that they practice. My teaching started in my undergrad, about 5 years ago when I was required to take a Vocal Pedagogy class as part of my major. From there I fell in love with teaching. I was able to expand on my love as a substitute teacher at Rabun Gap Academy in Rabun Gap Georgia in 2012. There I taught five girls ranging from 8-15. I continued that until 2014, I then took on two colleagues, a girl who was 24 at the time and a guy who was 19 and taught them for a year. Read More
