While doing this, I've also realized that each student eventually reaches an "ah ha" moment in their time of learning with me. I graduated from Northwestern University in 2020 with a Master's of Music and hold a Bachelor's of Music from Boston University. I've performed internationally as a member of multiple ensembles and as a soloist and am a strong advocate for the use of saxophone in a variety of settings as well as the expansion of contemporary music. I began teaching students in earnest during my senior year of undergraduate school in 1984-85. Prior to graduate school I was an adjunct trumpet teacher at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. Part of my graduate assistantship was as an instructor and since graduation I have helped a number of students from beginner to intermediate level achieve their goals in both classical and non classical settings.
