I am currently studying Music Education with an Instrumental Band Emphasis at BGSU, and am in my final year of coursework. I student teach in the Fall of 2020. I have had the opportunity to perform in many ensembles at BGSU, including University Choral Society, Concert Band, Wind Symphony, and various chamber groups. I have performed in the Detroit Orchestra Hall with the Wind Symphony, and will be performing with them at the Bands of America Festival this coming March. Read More

Depending on a student's interests, I could start with several books like Rufus Reid's Evolving Bassist (for all-around bass playing). If reading skills are a main goal of a student's focus, I use repertoire from the standard canon and IMSLP. I feel that improvisation is an often overlooked key to self-expression and mastery of one's instrument, so I introduce concepts used in making up solos and some theory as soon as possible. Read More
