During my college years, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant which allowed me to help students primarily in music. Part of my duties included teaching smaller classes and tutoring students in music theory and ear training. Through those songs, I can introduce many technical and musical concepts. It is very important that this is a positive musical experience. In my lessons, I work hard to create a routine that best fits the students needs. This typically means that many of my students are not following a specific lesson plan or standard routine. Starting out, I stress fundamentals and warm-ups to help the students create a solid grasp of the instrument, before making the move towards solo repertoire. After high school, I took on a couple of private students for my college professors, whom I intermittently taught throughout my bachelors degree.
