I graduated from Weber State University (WSU) with a Bachelor's of Music in Keyboard Pedagogy. I have performed many times in solo and ensemble works in different settings during my education. I like to play along with the students because I want them to hear what more experienced players sound like too. I was interested in teaching from a young age; I loved to play school with my friends. I started tutoring in high school, as well as teaching private flute lessons. I have taught private lessons since 2017 and have loved every moment of it, both with beginners and with more advanced high school students. I began working as a marching band technician in 2021 and have since worked for numerous schools. Spending time with these students of all ages and interests brings me great joy, and I know that further pursuance of music will bring the same fulfillment to students for years to come. Read More

I fell in love with teaching the piano during my freshman year of high school. That was 8 years ago, and I have been teaching consistently from my home studio and online ever since then. I have found that there is a fine balance to be struck between structure and curiosity in helping a student cultivate their love for music. For all students, I will do a fair amount of playing be ear and call and response in hopes to avoid an unhealthy association with printed high notes, which is a very common occurrence for trumpet players.
