To the extent that I can for each, I push my students to progress quickly. It can get boring to practice the same piece over and over without variation, so practicing is required. The first step in guiding a student to their own discoveries is to put them in the best possible mentality to succeed. A clear, present, and focused mind is the ultimate goal.
