My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons to some of my peers that were interested at that time, around 9 years ago, and since then I've been teaching students in my home country and overseas trough skype. I had the chance to teach as a professor on several colleges in my country including kids, youngsters and elder people, which I find very interesting because although they are very different I can relate to all of them in his interest to learn about music. We all learn best through patters - not only in the material itself, but also how it is presented. Because I want students to be comfortable in a routine, I greatly value structure in my lessons, which incorporate theory, technique, and repertoire in a way that caters to the student’s interests as much as possible. A favorite line for me is Alfred’s Piano Library, as it provides a colorful, natural approach, even for complex musical concepts. Read More

I like to create lessons in which students learn to read traditional music notation, develop technique, and play familiar tunes. I use musictheory.net to help student practice reading note names. The faster a student can read musical notation, the faster the student can pick up new pieces. To develop technique, I want students to lean scales and arpeggios. Sometimes, we use a technique book to develop muscle memory, and other times technical exercises are created based on the tricky musical passages of solo or ensemble pieces. Read More

I help students to find their forte. I discovered what motivates them through years of teaching in my studio, students' homes, music schools and instrument shops. Highlights of my teaching career include teaching at The L.A. Conservatory of Music and Eubanks Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, and presidency of the Music Teachers Association of California, San Fernando East Valley. While I played at the piano, several congregations have sung God’s praises. Read More
