I'm hands-on, affirming, and challenging at the same time: I believe in gently recognizing areas of improvement, which we work on through fostering a positive, "no-wrong-answers" approach. I create a safe space for my students and encourage them to explore all areas and facets of the instrument; in doing so, students are then able to express themselves more dynamically in classical music, and to improvise more creatively in jazz. I draw my inspiration from my teachers past, as well as my favorite musicians-- trumpet and otherwise. Read More

I have a deep love for music, and one of the ways that I express that is through teaching! I primarily teach drums and percussion, which has been my main focus since 2011 when I entered high school. From there, I began a path that led me to Millersville University and NYU, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business Technology and a Master of Music degree in Percussion Studies respectively. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, when I student taught at various middle and high schools as well as taught private voice lessons at a music and dance academy. After college I started my first teaching job in Maryland, teaching beginner piano, choir, and musical theatre. After my first job I joined the national tour of A Christmas Carol, where I was a performer as well as the vocal coach. Read More
Instruments: Cello
My teaching experience dates back to when I was a senior in high school. I would teach local cellists ranging from Elementary School ages to College aged students. Outside of teaching cello, I spend my time as a Choir Director and a Religious Education Teacher. As for other music experience, I've participated in various orchestras, ranging from the New York University Philharmonia to the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra. While I love experiencing new things, I also love passing what I've learned on. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice
I use written materials including songs that have already been written by other composers, as well as my own etudes so that the lesson can be properly practiced. Depending on the individual student's technical ability and style of music they wish to learn, I write practice exercises specifically catered to them. These exercises will be focused on whichever technique we cover in the lesson, and after completion of this homework assignment, the technique should become second nature. Read More

My number One thing is that it has to be fun learning otherwise the students get bored easily and disinterested so I always incorporate learning real music while you’re learning theory and carefully assessing the students strong points and trouble spots all the while giving them goals and consistent practice schedule And the critical importance of using a Metronome and having excellent timing. I want more than anything for it to be an enjoyable experience as well as a growth process for them and you continually push themselves to greater limits and I always stress the importance of practicing a little bit every day for muscle memory As supposed to spread out long practice sessions and I always give them encouraging words to help propel them to new heights, I also encourage them to bring any songs they would like to learn so that they can be playing with other fellow musicians and singers as quickly as possible Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin Electric Violin
I first started teaching violin in high school as a part of the Music Buddies Program, where high school students in the top orchestra would pair with elementary and middle school children in the area who could not afford private lessons. In the past few years, I have taught students of all ages, from just 4 years old, all the way to 76 years old! I love teaching as I am always learning something new from my own students. Read More
