I took two semesters of clarinet pedagogy at KU and I frequently presented clinics to middle school students in Lawrence public schools. I find my greatest joy in life in music and sharing it with others. I am a composer and performing pianist who has discovered music as my most comfortable language for communicating with the world. I have benefitted from studying with some of the world's foremost composers at Juilliard, Bard and the Manhattan School of Music, and am enthusiastic about imparting all that I have learned from them. I think it's important to consistently accomplish small goals in order to raise one's self esteem and motivation to practice the instrument. I put a strong emphasis on listening, reading, writing, improvisation, and playing with others. Students who are new to the instrument will be introduced to the fundamentals of the guitar. I began taking on private students while still in college at Temple University in Philadelphia. Although I was pursuing a degree in performance, taking on a studio of woodwind students while completing my studies helped me realize my passion for passing along my own knowledge and experience I have gained as a musician! Since then, I have maintained a regular teaching schedule combining both in-home and studio-based lessons.
