Since the begining, I focus on sight reading and learning repertoire strategies. I believe that if the student is capable of reading and learning the repertoire quickly, he or she will become much more motivated and the act of practicing will be something pleasant. I like my students to fell they practice because they like to, and not only because they have to. I believe that learning is incredibly individualized. Each student will have specific goals and ways of understanding instruction. Because of this, I believe that teaching should be just as individualized. I aim to teach each student in what ever way will best support them in their learning, rather than forcing all students to learn in one uniform way. I also believe in a holistic method of teaching, meaning we will focus on how singing feels in the entire body, rather than only focusing on the neck up. Read More
