For beginning students on brass instruments, we will send time getting the student to be comfortable holding and playing the instrument with a good, air driven sound. Once the student is able to reliably play their first notes in a rhythmic fashion, we can begin working on introducing music notation into the equation. Books I suggest will generally be books more specialized for each individual instrument, rather than method books used in band classrooms. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I truly enjoy seeing my students learn to appreciate music and its many styles and uses. My teaching style, while keeping a focus on the fundamentals of piano, also encourages creativity and exploration of their own. All students have different learning styles and speeds, and some students may take longer to understand certain concepts. I take this into account before each lesson, and tailor the lesson to be both productive and enjoyable. Read More
Instruments: Voice Saxophone Flute Recorder Tuba
I grew up with a Pianist and Music Theory Professor as a mother; I learned to read music at the same time as I learned to read English. Music has never lost that early childhood sense of wonder for me, and so it's my primary goal to share that with others. More importantly, I want to help people of all ages develop their own musical voice and directive. So my teaching style is a combination of 2 things: Teaching a student how to practice (that is, improve their fundamental skill set towards mastery of an instrument) their instrument, and helping the student develop their musical identity and interests. Instruments: Piano Trombone Keyboard
I approach each student in their own unique way based on their own goals and experiences. As a trained jazz musician, I like improvising and composing exercises for students on the spot and this is a skill I like to teach my students as well. It is important to me that students learn to be their own teacher so that they can improve at their craft continually for years to come. Read More

I always want my students to have a very positive experience taking lessons and never to feel as if there is too much pressure put on them. Every student is different so I don't have a specific teaching formula. I always ensure that the student is moving at a comfortable pace for them while still being challenged and learning new things. I am always quick to acknowledge every small bit of progress that they make and focus on the positives rather than the negatives. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Music
I have worked with beginner students, looking to learn more about their voice and what it can do. I have worked with students that are at the height of the professional singing career and I have helped them refine and nuance their audition package. I have helped singers work on their own musical compositions for an upcoming indie/pop/and/or RB album release. My job is to help you reach your goals, and I'm so excited to listen to your voice grow!" Read More
