My teaching style is focused on helping each student feel at ease, so that they can better learn. I also am strength-based in.my approach. That is, I focus on each individuals strengths in learning. This is in contrast to other teaching styles which are geared toward focusing on an individuals challenges. Often, if they are struggling, I'll tell them to say something like, "I can do it" aloud a few times. I have been teaching privately since 2006. I specialize in jazz drum set, but I can teach all sorts of styles of music as well. In addition to drum set, I teach rudimental, marching and classical snare drum, classical percussion (mallets, timpani), afro-cuban percussion (congas, bongos, timbales), sight reading, music theory, and beginning piano.
