I have been teaching since I was in high school, and have enjoyed each lesson. I emphasize a strong fundamental base and building upon each students individual interests to help them develop their musical curiosity. I like to model lessons after an ideal practice session, starting with a fundamental warmup and development, moving into scale work, and then addressing the repertoire being studied. I always take my students' interest in mind when selecting repertoire and make sure they are staying engaged through the lessons as well as wanting to practice outside the lessons. Read More

From there, I began teaching as the percussion instructor at the same school during the beginning of my freshman year of college, lasting for the next 7 years after that. I'd also like to add that one of my former students from the same school is now the percussion instructor there. During my 7-year tenure there, I also taught as percussion instructor at many other high schools, middle schools and even a music conservatory, which was definitely the highlight of my teaching career so far. I was hired on as an adjunct to coach sectionals for a small school who later went on to get high marks on their marching assessment that year. I have performed in many Musical Theater productions- Most recently Mrs. Lovett in Sweeny Todd, Operas- performing roles like Cinderella to The Queen of the Night, and I frequently perform with a rock and roll band here in Greensboro, NC.
