I had the opportunity to play for the adult and youth choirs. I am versatile in different genres however, I specialize in gospel music. At the beginning I will test the students on how much they know and what they like to play(soundtracks, gospel songs, songs out of the hymnal, classical etc). I start every lesson with positive and a little bit of chit chat to see how everything in their life is going. For beginning students, I typically start with teaching the parts of the guitar and the string names. I then progress to the notes on each string and introduce some basic exercises for hand coordination. We can then progress through scales and chords and touching on some music theory.
