For children, I focus on the comprehension of pitch and note reading. If the child has a song that he or she wants to sing, then we will pursue it if it is vocally fitting. If not, I have a variety we can choose from. We also will pursue the fundamentals of music theory in our lessons as well. The biggest accomplishment to me is helping students of all ages fall in love with music just like I did as a child. Students do not need to perform infront of others if they truly wish not to, as long as they enjoy what they are doing. It is important that a student continues to progress during their time with me, however this will be at their own pace.
