Since I started working professionally as a drummer at the age of 17, I have had the chance to perform in Europe, America, Africa and Asia, in some of the most prestigious live music venues, festivals and theaters around the globe. I have collaborated on projects with many bands and musicians across all genres from jazz to funk, rock, pop, flamenco, tango, world music and classical music. Since 2005 I have been a percussionist with the National Dance Academy in Italy, and I am currently playing for the Juilliard Dance Department in New York and the Merce Cunningham Trust in New York. I am a working musician and actively published musicologist. My career as a concert musician began in the 1970's with youthful performances around the US and Canada. In early 2006, I was included in Who's Who in American Women and Who's Who in Education in America, and in 2009 was added to the roster of International Who's Who in Music. I attended Wittenberg University (sacred music) studying conducting and orchestration with John Williams and Ian Polster, New York University for humanities, and the Mannes College of Music (MM classical performance and theory), studying with Robert Secrist, Frederic Hand, Charles Kaufman, Julius Levine, Yakov Kreizberg, Leo Edwards and Marie Powers and completed my graduate library studies with Jane Gottlieb at the Juilliard School. My scholarly work has been focused on the performance, documentation, historiography and promotion of music and performing arts. Henry is an incredibly experienced piano instructor in northern New Jersey, working with students of all ages and skill levels.Henry is an active member of two bands: one is a progressive rock group where he writes original compositions, and the second is a Beatles tribute band that regularly plays in the area. I use Rubank methoh books for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. I will introduce material from the Arbans method when students have reached a desired level. In addition, I'll find material in the genre that is exciting to the student but also develops their skills and techniques on the instrument. I create individual lessons and goals for each student based what needs to be improved, and what inspires them to practice and get better I am a strong believer in proper techniques, and that they can be obtained simulataneously while studying many genres of music. I truly appreciate all efforts to produce sound. I am never bored or impatient! My approach to my students is informal, unpressured and encouraging. I play with my students all the time, creating occasions for performance and giving my students contexts for taking pride in their musical achievements. I was born in the Ukraine. I received a degree from the Conservatory of music of Lviv in the Ukraine, where studied trombone. I was performed in Symphonic Band, Brass Ensemble, and the Philharmonic Orchestra. I was previously a band director and music educator in the Ukraine.
